UPCOMING EVENTS
SPLISH SPLASH WATER PARTY BASH (Saturday – July 14th) From 10:00 – 12:00 there will be a large water slide, and other activities, on the church grounds for children 5 years old and under.  Your child/children must be accompanied by an adult.  Bring a swimsuit, sunscreen, towel, and a friend.  It’s going to be a lot of fun!!!
ONGOING EVENTS
There is a CARE GROUP LUNCHEON the first Sunday of each month (unless otherwise noted) immediately following the worship service.  We invite all of our visitors to join us so we can get to know you better.  
The second Monday of each month the LADIES LUNCH BUNCH meet in the food court of the Indian River Mall at 11:30 for lunch and fellowship.  All are welcome to join. 
The third Thursday of each month the ROCKIN’ SENIORS have their ‘get together’ at 5:00 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.  Bring your favorite snacks and games!
Past Events 
JULY 1ST 5:00 p.m. Everyone will meet in the Fellowship Hall for an evening of singing patriotic songs, celebrating birthdays (including Uncle Sam’s), enjoy cake, and watermelon. There will be fireworks (sparklers) in the church yard. Come and celebrate!!!

ALOHA (Sunday, June 24th) Help us say “Aloha” to the Paladins! Surf on over to the Fellowship Hall at 5:00 p.m. to share some wonderful memories. Don’t forget to wear your favorite Hawaiian shirt!!! (Sign-ups for the event are in the foyer.)
SPECIAL SPEAKER (June 13th) Wednesday night will be a special presentation about Central Florida Bible Camp.  Ron Brackett has been a part of this ministry for a long time and a friend of this church.  Please make plans to join him in the Fellowship Hall this week at 7 pm. He will present some very exciting plans for the camp.
SPECIAL SPEAKER (Saturday, June 2nd) Payton Minzenmayer from Norman, Oklahoma will be speaking on the topic of Millennials.  He has a passion to help people understand and relate to a group many have labeled “difficult”.  He has studied, written, and talked about this topic on his podcast.  We are inviting everyone to invite others and join us from 10:00 a.m.- 12:00p.m.  
SENIOR NIGHT (May 6th) Come out Sunday evening at 5:00 to celebrate our seniors at their graduation celebration.  Festivities will begin in the auditorium.
MISSION SUNDAY (April 15th) Mission Sunday is fast approaching. Arthur David will be our guest speaker.
FISH FRY (Saturday – April 14th)  5:00 – 7:00 p.m. – Annual Fish Fry Fund raiser is right around the corner.  Buy your tickets for $15 in the foyer.  The proceeds will help send Sasha Chisholm, Deja Miller, and Troy Wiley to Antigua on what has become an annual mission trip.  
CARE GROUP BREAKFAST (Saturday – APRIL 7th) Led by Mark Andersson’s will have a breakfast at Bob Evans (6070 20th St. Vero) beginning at 8:30.
BBQ FUNDRAISER (Saturday, February 3rd) The teens will host an Old West BBQ and Moving Picture Show on the grounds.  This is to raise money for their trip to Winterfest.  Please come out and support our young folks.  Dinner begins at 5:00.  Tickets are $15 and go on sale Sunday January 14th.
 SPECIAL LUNCHEON (Sunday, January 28th) There will be a special luncheon for our Snow Birds on January 28th in the HeBrews fellowship hall immediately following the worship service.  The idea is to give our northern brothers and sisters an opportunity to get to know each other.  Snow Birds should bring a main dish and a side dish to share.  
MEMORIAL SERVICE (January 16th) There will be a memorial service for David White on Tuesday at 11 am.  It will be held in the chapel at Lowther Funeral Home (1655 27th St.). 
CELEBRATION OF LIFE (January 13) There will be a celebration for our sister,  Louise Belfonte,  Saturday at 11:00 am in the auditorium. Louise worked as our office secretary for many years, and worshipped with this congregation her entire life.  Her parents were part of the original founding couples of the VBcofC. Come celebrate Louise’s life. 
ANNUAL MEETING/ELDERS’ FORUM (January 7, 2018) We will meet in the Fellowship Hall at 5 pm.  This is a time when you can find out the direction the Elders will lead the members during the coming year. Our theme for the year is “Community”, and the elders will discuss that with the congregation. There will also be a time for asking questions. Members, please plan to attend. 
CHRISTMAS EVE LUNCHEON (December 24th)  We will hold our annual Christmas Eve community luncheon with turkey and all of the trimmings.  We will begin serving the meal at 11:00.
CHRISTMAS CAROLING & CHRISTMAS EVE LUNCHEON SET-UP (Wednesday – December 20th)  We will be caroling around town to those needing a little extra Christmas cheer.
CHRISTMAS PARTY (Sunday – December 10th) Our annual Christmas party and monthly Sunday evening get together. 
CELEBRATION OF LIFE (December 3) We will celebrate the life of our sister Emily Warren.  The Celebration of Life will begin at 3:00 in the auditorium.  In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to:

DINNER ON THE GROUNDS (November 5, 2017) 11:00-? There will be a church wide potluck dinner on the grounds immediately follow the worship service.  The church will provide fried chicken.  Please bring your favorite side or dessert to go with the meal.  There will also be fun and games following the meal!!!
ELDERS’ FORUM (September 3rd) These are designed to give information and updates as well as an opportunity for the congregation to ask questions or give ideas.  This will be the first Sunday night of the month at 5:00.  Please make plans to be here on that day at 5:00 p.m.
PROMOTION NIGHT (August 30th) Our annual promotion night for our young people.  Jason King and David Paladin are getting some things together to make it special.  This is also the night our youth will “move up” to the next Bible class level.
INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION (July 2, 2017) Our first Sunday night fellowship with be an Independence Day Celebration at our building.  There will be a short program followed by games and activities.  David Paladin will be grilling  hotdogs and hamburgers.  Please bring your favorite dessert to share. 
HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR NIGHT (May 7th) Come out to honor and celebrate our graduating high school seniors.  We will meet in the auditorium for the presentation and move to the fellowship hall for refreshments. 
FISH FRY (April 28th) Antigua Mission Trip Fish Fry. 5 – 7 p.m. A limited number of tickets are available for $10. 
MISSION SUNDAY (March 5th) Start praying and planning now for our annual Mission Sunday program. This year our speaker will be Dave Osbourne from the Linstead church in Linstead, Jamaica.  We will hear about a great opportunity to bring the Gospel to that area with the work that is progressing in Linstead.  More information about our planned areas of support, and our financial goal will be announced shortly. 
CHILI COOK-OFF (February 22 – Wednesday) 6:30 in the Hebrews Coffee shop – CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 2017 CHAMPION, BRANDY BRACKETT!
ARTHUR DAVID (January 22nd) He will be preaching.  We have been a part of his ministry in Africa for a few years. Not only has he done a good work, but he is a true Christian gentleman. We celebrate this friendship. We will no longer support Brother David as his ministry has become self-sufficient! Following worship we will have dinner on the grounds. 
TEEN BANQUET (January 21, 2017)  6:00 The teen banquet will be held at the court house executive center 
CHRISTMAS CAROLING (December 21st) We will go caroling to the shut-ins or others who might enjoy some holiday cheer. The more the merrier.  Please join in. 
COMMUNITY LUNCHEON (December 24th) We will hold our annual Christmas Eve Community Luncheon.  All are invited. 
CHRISTMAS PARTY ( December 4th)  Our annual party will be held at the Heritage Center 
YOUTH PANCAKE BREAKFAST (October 29th) We have a fundraiser going on for our youth. This will be Jason’s first, so let’s really show him our support. They are selling tickets to help cut the cost for our young people to go to Winterfest in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Most of you know this is THE event the teens look forward to each year. They have the opportunity to worship with thousands of teenagers from all over the country and take in several classes. It is also a time for them to bond as a group. Here are the details: October 29th from 8-10 am; cost is $14 for tickets (see Jason or any in the youth group); it will be held at Applebee’s in front of Walmart; the breakfast includes pancakes, eggs, sausage, and drink (OJ, fountain drinks and coffee).
